Chif Rabbi comes to town
As you all probably know, Chabad of Sydney recently had a Gala Dinner, which from what i hear was a great success, with nearly 1000 people attending for dinner and more that came to see. Guest Speaker Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Yonah Metzger.

He also came to Yeshiva and spoke to the Bochurim about the partnership of G' with every Jew, among other topics.

Purim

Together with me are Yossi Cohen and Yanky Nemon, who work together with me at South Head.

Ta'anis Easter we went to a Public school on behalf of the BJE (Board of Jewish Education) and gave a talk on Purim, we also showed the kids a Megillah and gave them candy.

On Monday night, the first night of Purim we had a Purim play on put on for the kids by some of the Shluchim from Yeshiva, we had a very nice turn out of around 180 kids, Yanky also stared in the Play,

Later on that night after Megillah reading we had a Purim Party for Teens, we rented some games, Pool/snooker table, football table and Air hockey, and some others, we also had a BBQ, with a turn out of 80 or more boys and girls,

South Head Ski Camp Winter (July- Australia) 2005
From an old Diary
Ski Camp the next week. for older boys between 12 and 16. Again Thank G' we were very successful. With 31 boys and 6 staff. only 5 weeks before hand we were close to forgetting about the camp altogether but with the Rebbe's Brochos and all G's fine work it was a great success. in fact i even had to tell one parent that we were not able to take their child due to lack of space i did feel bad. With 2 days of Skiing. (my first time) snow tubing laser zone and more... it was a great experience. on all levels the preparation, organization and all that is included in putting a camp together. and of course registration. and then the camp itself for some reason I was head counselor as-well, not that there was bunks but all the announcements decisions ... for some reason the guy that was going to be head counselor didn’t play the role and decided to help in the kitchen. However with all that the camp still ran smoothly and was a great success
one of the biggest successes that we had with this camp was Shabbos, for some kids it was the first time that they kept a Shabbos all the way, and they were excited about it!

So how did you have hot Kosher Meat Pies in the middle of Skiing in the Snowy Mountains you ask?
Well....with a Microwave plugged into a petrol powered Generator of course!! yes a touch of Genius!!

Our visit to Byron Bay and Surfers Paradise!
We went to Byron Bay to visit our president who was with his family up north, it was a 9 hour drive to Surfers Paradise and then an hour from there to Byron, we stayed in Surfers over night and the next day moved on to Byron.
In Surfers we first rented Scooters, and drove around, then we rented what we thought was a 4 wheel drive and, well, when we were stuck in the sand with half the back wheel stuck, it was quite evident that it was just for the look and it was not a 4 wheel drive!
The next day we went to Byron where we met our Shul President, Malcolm Kofsky with his family, they had arranged an apartment for us in the same building as theirs, which was right opposite the beach, and we had food that we brought up from Sydney, together with a Microwave.
There, after much messing around we went Quad Biking, it was my first time and its the best one I have been so far... in the mud and rain up and down some steep hills with a short swim in a muddy lake as well, it was a lot of fun!!!
We also took a walk to see the Lighthouse, on the way we saw some wild Chickens, a mountain goat, and some wired Lizards, we also made it to the most easterly point in Australia.

Me on a Scooter in Surfers Paradise!

All of us on our bikes!!!

I like this Picturte so you get to see it too!

The "4 wheel Drive"

When we discovered it wasn’t really a "4 Wheel drive"

And finally how we got it out after trying everything else, we discovered close by was a ship with a lot of junk and a crane, the crane had a very strong strap which we borrowed (and returned) to pull out the car,

Once in Byron we took a long walk to the Lighthouse and the most easterly point of Australian mainland. There was also some serious water rushes on the way!

Some Serious water

And of course

Quad Biking some place near Byron Bay. that was FUN!!!

Me!!

Me Again!

and me AGAIN!!!! (a little stupid this one)

In the middle we had short break with a swim in some muddy lake...

On visit to Thredbow,
After Adventure Camp was over, we went to visit our Rabbi and Rebbitzin in Thredbo, Snowy Mountains for a Shabbos, There we went Horse riding and Tobogganing, We also climbed the highest mountain in Australia, Mt. Kosciusko
While horse riding we saw a pack of Kangaroos running and jumping in the distance.
Shabbos was very nice, we stayed till Sunday, and on the way back stopped in Canberra for a short while.

While horse riding we saw a bunch of Kangeroos and a brambi - a wild horse on the loos just running around the woods.

Standing on the highes point in Australia on Mt. Kosciusko,

Me with Yossi Cohen on Mt. Kosciusko

and on the way back as the Sun arose....

On the way we stoped at Canberra, the Capital of Australia also known as ACT Australia Capital Territory, so we stoped and took some pictures. In front of the Parliament.
